About

Built on real experience. Applied across roles and environments.

Deborah “Dee” Baker is the founder of Beyond the Uniforms™ LLC, providing development, workshops, and speaking grounded in identity-centered leadership.

A U.S. Air Force veteran and former federal leader, Dee has led large, complex teams and operated in environments where decisions carry real responsibility and impact.

That experience now informs leadership development across organizations, universities, and individual leaders.

Approach

A different approach to development

Growth and development are shaped by how decisions are made in real situations—not just by role, title, or position.

At the center of this work is:

Identity-Centered Leadership™
Strengthening decision-making across roles, responsibilities, and real-world outcomes.

This approach focuses on how individuals think, respond, and operate—especially in moments that require clarity, responsibility, and direction.

Difference

What makes this different

Most leadership development focuses on theory or performance.

This work focuses on how people operate in real environments:

  • Clarity before action
  • Perspective before response
  • Ownership in decision-making

Delivery

How this work shows up

Through workshops, advisory, speaking, and facilitated sessions, Beyond the Uniforms™ creates space for reflection, perspective, and practical application.

Rather than providing formulas or scripts, this work supports individuals and organizations in examining how experience, responsibility, and decision-making intersect—and how that shapes real-world outcomes.

My Book

Beyond the Uniforms:
Reset • Reframe • Reclaim™

More than a book, this is a reflection on identity, leadership, and the decisions that shape how we live and lead.

In Beyond the Uniforms, Dee Baker shares a personal journey of transformation—from operating within expectations and external roles to leading with clarity, alignment, and intention.

Through storytelling, reflection, and structured frameworks, the book introduces:

  • Reset • Reframe • Reclaim™ — a process for stepping back, gaining clarity, and moving forward with aligned decisions
  • FIRE™ (Face Truth • Intentionally Release • Rise in Resilience • Empower Others) — strengthening internal capacity and leadership resilience
  • FLOW™ (Find • Lead • Operate • Whole) (slightly adapted wording optional for tone consistency — or keep original if legally required)

This work invites leaders to examine how their experiences, roles, and expectations shape their decisions—and how to move forward with greater clarity and ownership.
